綿陽簡介 (Mian Yang Introduction)

    綿陽市位于盆地北部涪江與安昌河的交匯處，是本世紀80年代以后迅速發展起來的新興工業城市。以電子工業為主要特色，其它還有鋼鐵、水泥、紡織等工業門類在全省也占有重要位置。綿陽歷史悠久，西漢時期建縣，因面臨涪江，故名涪縣。因此，綿陽又有涪城之稱。綿陽城北有綿山，民國初年改為綿陽縣。新中國成立后，綿陽一直是綿陽地區行署所在地。1976年綿陽正式建市（縣級市）﹔1983年，德陽從綿陽地區分出單獨設市﹔1985年，綿陽地區分解為綿陽、廣元、遂寧三個直轄市。
    綿陽市交通方便，寶成鐵路、川陝公路縱貫全境。市區內旅游資源丰富：有劍門蜀道上的翠云廊、江油竇??山﹔有平武王朗自然保護區、北川縣小寨子溝自然保護區、安縣的白水湖風景區﹔文物古跡有江油李白故居、竇??山云崖寺、平武報恩寺、梓潼七曲山大廟等。此外，還有蔣琬墓、古江油關、富樂山等三國遺跡。綿陽既是劍門蜀道旅游線的起點，又是通往九寨溝的樞紐之地，地理位置十分重要。

綿陽簡介 (Mian Yang Introduction)

       Located in northwestern Sichuan, Mianyang is 98 kilometers from Chengdu. Occupying 20,000 square kilometers, Mianyang's population currently stands at 5.1 million with an urban population of 660,000. In September 2000, Li Lanqing, Vice Minister of the State Council, paid a visit and decided Mianyang should be developed into a science and technological city.

　　Known as Fucheng of Mianzhou as of olden days,the city proper of Mianyang is the juncture of the two ancient paths; Jinniu and Yinping, of Guanzhong (now central Shaanxi) and Longyou (now southeastern Gansu), leading straight to Chengdu. It used to hold an important place especially in the rise and fall of Shu Han dynasty with its long-standing history, developed commerce and travel and numerous historical sites. Stories about the Fucheng Encounter between Liu Bei and Liu Zhang; Deng Ai Entering Shu to Defeat Zhuge Zhan's Defending Troops and Seized Chengdu,took place here. Major remains cover: Fuleshan, the Tomb of Jiang wan, Shu Jun Ying Pan Zui (Shu army service station on a pass) and age-old Jiangyou pass and the like.

　　Fuleshan situated in the Mianyang city pro- per,the very place where Liu Bei and Liu Zhang met. It is now a scenic and fun-filled tourist attraction with gardens trbuilt and renovated to high light the annals and legends relating to the Three Kingdoms. Various structures, hundreds of stone steles, numerous murals and relief sculptures depicting stories about. Three Kingdoms and the T.K. theater (Sichuan opera) presented every now and then have made Fuleshan an excellent destination to keep track of the T.K.ruins. Both the sightseeing and the voluble talks of a tour guide will surely enable visitors to thoroughly enjoy the scenery and the atmosphere there.

　　Xishan scenic spot in Mianyang is another attraction where the Shrine/Tomb of Jiang Wan, Shu minister of war, and the reconstructed pavilion of Ziyun (west Shui) are merged with luxuriant trees and splendid halls.Beside it is the Yulu Quan (girl attendant to fairies fountain) and Taoist rock sculptures etc..

　　Located at the Nanba town where the cities of Jiangyou and Pingwu share a common boundary ,Jiangyou Pass was the first mountain pass seized by Deng Ai who, via Yinping Path, invaded and finished off the State of Shu, Ma Miao, a general of the defending troops, surrendered and his wife committed suicide for the country.

　　Apart from the T.K. ruins, there are a number of natural sceneries and places of interests for those who make an excursion to Mian-yang city and its subordinate counties; there are in Jiangyou the former residence of Li Bai, the great poet of Tang Dynasty, Dutuanshan landscapes- Three Peaks Stand Towering, Bailong Gong (white dragon palace) the karst topography with an infinite variety of fantastic phenomena. And in Zitong stands the ancestral temple of Emperor Wenchang (Qiqushan Grand Temple), time-honoured, magnificent and relics-filled.
