Villa of Silin is only 15 minutes away from the Leptis Magna. The Plutocrats of Leptis built themselves fine villas, rediscovered by 20th century archaeologists, One of the finest is the well-conserved Villa Silin, a few kilometres away from the port of Al Khums near Leptis Magna. Villa Silin was discovered in 1974 under dunes. The location is superb over looking an expanse of sandy beach. The 20-room villa hosts mosaics and surviving bits of fresco.
